Made in the USA – Artisan Home Decor
Art and Design
It begins with some time in nature and moves on to some time in the studio. After creating some watercolors, I then move onto the computer where I play with different designs reworking them until they are just right to move onto the next step. This is where many people might choose to send their designs overseas where it is never thought of again until months later you receive your final product all nicely printed and sewn for very little cost to you. I just watch too many documentaries I guess. Not only are you taking jobs away from Americans by sending jobs overseas there are just so many other negative impacts as well. In many other countries where manufacturing is taking place the people are not being paid living wages and their working conditions are atrocious. This is just something that I can’t be a part of. I will avoid it at all costs. Which means my products may cost more but I will sleep soundly at night.
Printing Fabric
Our art is then expertly printed onto fabric in North Carolina. The printers are spot on with their colors. Many people these days are printing in the USA but they are not cutting and sewing here! We don’t stop searching out the best ways to produce our collections. “Best” to us is not synonymous with cheapest or lowest cost. We want our employees, our outside contractors and our customers to feel good about our product.
Cutting and Sewing
Cutting and sewing is hard work! We have been doing it all ourselves for the past year but now are getting some help with larger jobs. We just don’t have the time! But you can rest assured that it is still being done responsibly and in the USA!
We haven’t stopped at the product itself! We have beautiful packaging that is Made in the USA as well! We are very passionate about our commitment to a quality eco-friendly product and as our company grows we will only expand on this mission.
As always support creative small businesses. Be the change you want to see in the world.
Don’t allow our country to turn into a place where we only have big box stores to shop at. I know I don’t want to have the same throw pillows in my house as everyone else!
